In 1980, Norm Gardner and Lyndon Langdon established Master Gasfitters as a “one stop shop” for gas appliance sales and installation. Diane Gardner has also been an integral part of the team for the entire period.
They have remained strongly independent over the period, offering solutions and outcomes in the best interests of the customers rather than from any allegiance to a particular supplier or franchise. Many of their employees have moved on to establish successful operations of their own.
The business was also heavily involved with the reticulation of Natural Gas through the suburbs of the ACT. They were involved in the first commercial and domestic connections to this new energy source. Ducted heating, cooling and hot water installations were the main focus of business in more recent times.
The business has remained in the hands of the original owners for the past 40 years. After over 27,500 installations and many innovations in the industry, Norm, Lyndon and Diane have reached a time in their lives where they need to move on.
While they feel a need to continue to provide diversity in the industry, and have a strong sense of responsibility and appreciation to their loyal customers, they have decided to close their showroom and office in Gladstone Street Fyshwick.
The business is currently in a state of ‘hibernation’ (along with many others in the country). Keep a look out for a re-boot of the business with new and enthusiastic owners with a similar sense of purpose and desire to provide the best customer experience possible.
